Where do I begin? I woke up relatively early this morning after a wild night of croquet, ice cream, and lord of the rings monopoly. Rachel just informed me that monopoly was the first password she ever used on a computer. She felt proud to spell such a long word. But anyway, I woke up early and started getting the last of my things together. I was pretty grumpy and I do apologize to my parents for that. Hey guys, sorry!
I got to Rachel’s parents house in Mason and the entertainment has not stopped. For the past week Rachel has been babysitting an 88 year old grandma and a 16 year old step cousin. Rachel’s step cousin, Tyler, is a struggling teenager who is full of angst, drama, and of course relationship problems with his boyfriend. Oh to be young again! Maybe I’m a little out of touch with high school students and what they do, but Tyler talked on the phone for a total of 7 hours today. He also spent his time evenly between drinking grape juice, eating vanilla wafers, and smoking cigarettes. We also caught him sneaking a beer from the fridge. He didnt stop there either..but for the sake of keeping this uncontroversial, I’ll stop. All in all, Tyler just needs someone to listen to him and really understand him. And after all that, he needs someone to give him a swift kick to the shins and a really big wedgie.
In other news, Rachel dyed my hair. Color? Truffle. Jill: “No one knows the truffles I’ve seen.” :]
We are all set to sojourn cerca 9:00 am tomorrow morning. My emotions have been a rollercoaster today, but at the current moment I am looking very forward to Chicago. This time tomorrow we will be in Grant park listening to live music and that makes my heart smile.
If I had to pick a theme song for today it would be “Keep Bleeding” by Leona Lewis because Tyler and I bonded through the singing of it. He thinks the song is very relative to his current relationship.
