Today was rather eventful. Rachel and I decided to leave Mason around 11 am. We didnt make it to Chicago until 8 pm. If you do the math, you realize that these numbers dont add up. And if you do the equation backwards to check yourself, you realize again these numbers dont add up. You’re right. We got stuck in a crazy storm that felt like El Nino all over again. We spent an hour and half kissing the bumpers. We spent the next 2 hours in a restaurant called Iron Skillet. The place was packed and everyone was in survival mode. A nice elderly man let us take the first two seats that were open before he took them for himself. They do exist! We decided to make the best of our time and befriend the people around us. I do want to add that people were ditching their cars on the highway and running to this rest area. Sheer madness!
We finally arrived to Chicago listening to the Cubs anthem when they win a game. It goes a little something like this: Go cubs go! Go cubs go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The cubs are gonna win today! Sheer genius! We met up with Paul and Casey and walked around the city until my feet were on fire. The transportation system is very pricey and confusing. No bueno.
Before I went to bed last night I got a chance to witness to Tyler. It was awesome! I simply went to say goodnight and he asked if I wanted to talk. He is surrounded by conditional love and people that dont accept/love him. I let him know there is more out there and things didnt have to be like that. He seemed generally interested in what I had to say. And i thought i would have to go half way across the country to have a solid conversation. Ha!
I miss my dog. I hope he is still sleeping in my bed even though I’m not there. I also hope he doesnt kill any rabbits while I’m gone. He is just too much of an animal sometimes.
I love you all!
