Well, today got better. Much better. After we had our own personal meltdowns, Rachel and I carried onward and went to a really cool theater here in Portland. The movies they play are new releases but they only charge you $3 and…AND they serve pizza and all sorts of food that you can actually take into the theater and eat in your seats with tables surrounding the entire place. The idea behind it is awesome and the pizza was the best I’ve had so far in the trip. It even beats Chicago style pizza. I will probably get pencil shavings or stones thrown at me for that statement. We found a bridge that we could actually walk across safely and we spent about an hour walking up and down, just taking it all in. We returned back to our new house with our new room mates and we had a little fire with tiki torches and all. Oh, and marshmellows. These guys are seriously great. So easy going and free. Our time in Portland has been just what we needed halfway through.
I just realized that come tomorrow, we have 10 days left of this trip. That means 8 more stops and I dont even know how many more miles, dollars in gas, peanut butter sandwiches, or rest stops there are to come. Earlier today was the first time I wanted to come home. It only lasted for a few moments, but it occured so I suppose I should document it.
Anyways, things are good. People are good. And pizza is cool.
