I think by now I have talked enough about Portland. To me, it is probably the easiest city to live in that we have visited thus far. It is small, but still large enough to entertain yourself in. One of my favorite things about Portland is the creative thinking that lies within the city. Not just in the people or the way they dress, but even in business. There are so many old school houses and theaters turned into hotels, restaurants, bars, coffee shops..you name it. Portland seems to take what is already there as far as building wise and transform it into something completely different and unique. Springfield could take a couple pointers from the ole city. Again, our hosts were beyond great. I was a little aprehensive about staying in the same place for three days just because I personally got so used to being in a new city every night. I thought we may burden our hosts or they would get sick of us, but that didnt happen. That didnt even come close to happening. Matter of fact, I’m going to stop referring to them as our hosts and now to our friends because I feel like that is what happened. Rachel and I have continually gone back over how awesome our time was in Portland just because of these guys and their interest in us and what we were all about. And I mean, we cared about them a little too. Ha! We both hope to stay in contact with them and visit again. Turning complete strangers into friends..that is what I like to see!
