The weather in San Fran is great, the vastness and the cost of it all though, got us pretty down. We are ballin on a budget! We decided we had enough and headed back to the ferry to ride back into Oakland to pick up our car. It was a real process all day long but I am impressed that we never got lost or tripped up at all. Once we got to the car, we decided to revert to our GPS ways and look up the Golden Gate Bridge. Only 8.3 miles away you say? We’re in. The bridge is huge! and red! and breath taking! and foggy! We drove up and down it and there was even a spot where you could get out and take the typical tourist pictures. So, we did. It was super cold by the bridge and I had to wear my CSCC hoodie again. Funny, I never thought I’d actually have to wear it. So, the bridge was fun and we ran away clicking our heels with glee. After a full day of exploration, we made it back to Cate’s house successfully and we got to talk to her a little more.
Currently, Rachel is sleeping with her mouth wide open and I hear faint snores and heavy breathing. I think I will try to put one of Dolce’s dog treats in her mouth.
Ron: Rachel also wanted me to add that she has been honking in every tunnel we have gone through. But! It wasnt until today in San Francisco, California that someone else finally responded back with a honk. You should be proud.
I want to also note that one of the ferry guys had quite the thing for Rachel because she has a ship tattoo. He made one mention of it while entering, he came and sat down next to her to talk about her tattoos while he shouldve been paying attention to our next stop, and afterwards when we were exiting he handed her his business card and said “If you ever want to paddle around the north shore, let me know!” We skipped away laughing into the sunset while triumphantly waving our newest business card in the air.
Tomorrow: LA..and we’re going to the beach…boys!
I love and miss you all! Keep praying for Rachel and I as we enter our last week on the road!
